Tiny House Competition

Results as of Oct. 13, 2016 12:00 pm

Introduction

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) recently hosted a tiny house competition with the slogan “Build Small and Win Big!” This is a new competition in the Sacramento region challenging collegiate teams to design, and build, ‘tiny’ net-zero homes. The event was held on October 12-14, 2016 and the awards presented on October 15, 2016. The event is at Cosumnes River College with 10 different teams showing off their designs. Homes received scores in four major categories: Architecture, Energy Use, Home Life, and Communications which were then summed to the final results shown below.

More information about this competition and scoring details can be viewed on the SMUD website.
